About Âm Lịch VN
Tools for the Vietnamese calendar and traditional culture: clear about how it is calculated, respectful of your privacy, no scare tactics.
What is Âm Lịch VN?
Âm Lịch VN is a free website for looking up the Vietnamese lunar calendar (Vietnam time), auspicious days and hours, day selection for weddings, business openings and moving in, couple compatibility, a daily outlook for the 12 zodiac animals and Tu Vi birth charts. It is in Vietnamese and English, for Vietnamese people at home and abroad who keep the habits of choosing dates, ancestor commemorations, Tết and the full moon.
What we stand for
- Computed in your browser. The birth data you enter into the tools is not sent to our servers, and you need no real name or account.
- Clear about the method. Every result has a rule behind it. The Methodology page explains each part and how far it has been verified, including what is still uncertain.
- Verified, not assumed. The lunar calendar is checked against an independent table over more than 72,000 days; Tu Vi charts are compared with another open-source implementation on 6,000 cases.
- No scare tactics, no "ritual" sales. We do not sell rituals or charms, we do not guess lottery numbers, illness or death, and we do not use threats to push you to buy anything.
Cultural knowledge, not prophecy
Auspicious days, compatibility, Tu Vi and birth charts are traditional East Asian ways of looking at time and people. We present them as cultural knowledge for reference and entertainment, not medical, financial, legal or relationship advice, and with no promise of outcomes. Schools differ; important decisions remain yours.
Name and symbol
Âm Lịch is the Vietnamese name for the moon-based calendar; VN stands for Vietnam, since lunar dates here follow UTC+7. The symbol is a red seal with a crescent moon (yin) and a gold four-point star (good fortune).
Who is behind it, and how reviewed it is
A small team builds and runs the site. Content is written from public sources; it has not yet been reviewed by an expert in calendrical science or Tu Vi. We therefore lean on what can be verified astronomically and by independent comparison, and we say where schools disagree. If you are knowledgeable and see something wrong, we would very much like to hear from you.
How the site is funded
The site is free to use. Running costs are met by display advertising; ads and advertising cookies load only after you consent. See the Privacy policy.
